I am a PhD student in Bioinformatics at Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China, advised by Prof. Zhixi Tian. My work focused on: analysing large-scale high-throughput sequencing data, including epigenomic, genomic, and transcriptomic data; developing and applying new technologies for genetics, genomics, and molecular biology; and developing computational methods and tools for functional genomics analysis.

In my PhD research, I was interested in the diversity, evolution, and functions behind cis-regulatory element and non-coding regions within plant genomes. Specifically, I want to understand the structural and functional impacts of 3D genomes that give rise to rewired cis-regulatory information and gene expression changes associated with genetic diversity of plant accessions. Using computational and experimental approaches, I was working to address such questions as: How did the architecture of 3D genomes evolve in plant accessions, and what is the underlying mechanism? To what extent do they contribute to gene expression divergences and phenotypic differences? And, how were 3D genomes selected during plant domestication and improvement?

Before I joined IGDB, I graduated from Shandong Agriculture University in Tai’an, China. In my undergraduate study, I used RNA-seq to profile the dynamics of gene expression in maize leaves, advised by Prof. Pinghua Li.
